Meet Our Trainers: Keren Cepero
At Next Level Studio we have some of the best trainers around. One of our awesome trainers is Keren Cepero. Keren has been with us since 2017 when she began attending Next Phase as a regular gym-goer, and eventually became a trainer in 2018. She has a solid educational background in fitness and currently holds several fitness certifications. Her education and certifications include NASM CPT, Women Fitness Specialist, Seniors Fitness Specialist, Yoga for TRX, and Pop Pilates. We’re so excited to have Keren on our team.
Keren has a dedication and passion for helping others and sees the potential they have from day one. Her kind, caring, and upbeat attitude is one of the things that we love best about her. Here’s a little more about Keren so you can get to know her too.

“Dorado, Puerto Rico.”
WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO BECOME A PERSONAL TRAINER?
“After my year of rediscovering and aligning my goals with my passions, I got serious about it. It's so rewarding helping others live their healthiest and happiest life. After being exposed to a myriad of clients, I fell in love with the well-lived clients (seniors) mostly because I wanted them to enjoy their families and be at their grandkids weddings and see their great-grandkids. I lost my grandparents early and didn't get a chance to have them at my wedding.”
WHEAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEAL?
“Pastelon de amarillo! Imagine a lasagna with sweet plantains instead of pasta. I should share this recipe with a video!”
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE EXERCISE?
“Anything TRX.”
WHAT'S ONE THING YOU WISH EVERYONE WHO SIGNED UP WITH A PERSONAL TRAINER KNEW ABOUT THE PROCESS?

“I don't know…My favorite phrase is, ‘Thank your body’ and ‘Happy (...whatever day of the week is).’”WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY WITH A CLIENT?
“To pick a favorite memory with a client is hard. I’d have to say anytime I see my client’s face when they crush a personal goal. This is usually followed by dancing!”
WHERE IS YOUR HAPPY PLACE?
“The beach; especially when I don't have to wear a wetsuit and can have the buns out!”
WHEN DID YOU START WITH NEXT PHASE?
“I started coming to Next Phase as a student in 2017. I went from 1st class free to a package and quickly realized that I needed to go unlimited! I subbed a few classes and helped on special events and by 2018 was teaching my own classes!”
WHAT CERTIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND DO YOU HAVE IN FITNESS?
“NASM CPT, Women Fitness Specialist, Seniors Fitness Specialist, Yoga for TRX, Pop Pilates.”
WHAT ARE YOUR CURRENT GOALS AND HOBBIES?
“My current goals are to create the best Seniors Fitness Program and improve my surfing skills. One of my hobbies is painting, especially when I have a glass of wine in hand. You know, to be more carefree when I feel I’m messing up the paintings.”
WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU LIKE TO INCLUDE IN YOUR BIO?
“I come from a family that stresses the importance of education. With that in mind, I pursued career goals as high as I could but not necessarily within my personal core values and passions. While writing my dissertation in 2017, I took some time to reconnect with everything that brought joy into my life and did the ‘100 Days of Happiness’ Instagram challenge. That changed everything! My perspective and even my career.”
